Meet Patricia Igneczi

Patricia Igneczi is a Senior Technical Services Specialist at Contec, Inc., where she specializes in contamination control for controlled manufacturing environments. She partners with global customers to strengthen contamination risk mitigation strategies and implement sustainable best practices across cleanroom operations, with technical expertise spanning cleanroom flows, aseptic behaviors, gowning, cleaning and disinfection, and environmental monitoring.

Patricia has nearly a decade of industry experience in cell and gene therapies. She served as Associate Director of Contamination Control, supporting programs from early-phase operations through commercial readiness. Her experience spans multiple facility builds, expansions, cleanroom redesigns, and renovation projects, including direct involvement in cleanroom commissioning and qualification. She has extensive experience executing equipment and facility qualification activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ. Most notably, Patricia has hands-on technical leadership experience for cleanroom EMPQ (Environmental Monitoring Performance Qualification), including development of risk-based sampling strategies grounded in process mapping, operator and material flow evaluations, and airflow visualization.

In her prior roles, she oversaw site-wide contamination control programs with a direct reporting structure encompassing environmental monitoring, sterility assurance, cleaning and disinfection, validation, and airflow visualization, driving cross-functional alignment between Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams. Known for bridging technical requirements with practical execution, Patricia helps organizations develop risk-based contamination control strategies that are sustainable, operationally effective, and aligned with current regulatory expectations.

She is an active member of the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA), the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), and the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST), contributing to ongoing industry knowledge and professional engagement. Her professional contributions also include serving as a frequent speaker at industry events and hosting webinars, reinforcing her role as a trusted technical resource and thought leader in the field.

Patricia is also committed to developing the next generation of contamination control professionals. She serves as a mentor through The Ohio State University’s Match Mentor program and the ISPE Mentor program, reflecting her belief that strong contamination control culture is built through education, coaching, collaboration, and shared accountability.
